Keep your pets safe this holiday season

My cats used to love doing stuff like this to the Christmas tree. Now that Marcie is older and a bit slower (especially because of her condition) I have nothing to worry with her. But Hershey can be another story. That's why I don't have a real Christmas tree and there will be absolutely NO real Poinsettia plants in my house. It's too bad because I think they're so beautiful.

I got several emails listing pet safety tips. But rather than edit and combine tips that aren't duplicated I found this HOLIDAY PET SAFETY CHECKLIST!

WOW!! I did not know that snow globes often contain ANTIFREEZE!! No snow globes take residence in my house at the moment. But who would have thought about something like that?

Take a look at that list. It's comprehensive and mindboggling.

Here's one tip that will never get old:

If you suspect that your pet has eaten something toxic, call your veterinarian and/or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center's 24-hour emergency hotline at 1-888-4-ANI-HELP better known as (888) 426-4435.
