``That wasn't us out there,'' USC quarterback Mark Sanchez said. ``I don't know who it was. I want to spit the bad taste out.
``It's not one person even though I feel like it's my fault. ``We all had our share. Coach Carroll was adamant about that.''

``I don't even know if we weren't focused or what it was,'' offensive lineman Jeff Byers said. ``We had a great week of practice. I never saw this coming.''

``We just couldn't tackle the guy,'' Pete Carroll said. ``We weren't ready to do what we needed to do. We weren't functioning.

``Our inability to stop Jacquizz Rodgers, I'm beside myself.''

``I was really surprised how they ran on us,'' defensive end Kyle Moore said. ``We missed a lot of tackles. People did not fall in the gaps. We didn't play well at all, especially on the defensive line.''

Oh yes , it was you SUC, you are very consitant at adopting Carrolls massive, full of himself attitude.

Your too busy thinking you are better than everyone else to put out the effort required to be better than everyone else. Yea, we suck because we have very little talent as I am sure all you pathetic SUC fans
want to tell me. But whats worse, Sucking because you have no talent thanks to Dorrell or Being loaded with more top talent thany any other team in the nation and loosing to teams that have starters that wouldnt make #3 on your depth chart. Ego's will bring the fall of SUC football.

Thanks for the props on me being the only one to pick the final correctly. What do I win Scott?

I don't see SC losing another game.

I don't know as much as Coach Carroll, but I would have tried to get a few snaps during the game for Garrett Green, but you know this may have not been the answer (see Ken Dorsey, during his sophmore season).

This was a good game, both teams played hard, but NO ONE gave OSU a chance to win this one, including the talking heads on PTI. OSU did nothing at Penn State that would deserve to have a smaller point spread.

When USC plays for the NC game this year (maybe against Penn State) this game will be a footnote, that's it.

SC has a target on its back, and will get the best shot against any team it plays this year. USC will be ready for the challenge.

This was a game between the two most successful coaches in the conference over the last two years. This was 5 star talent v. two star talent. The coaches both had the same amount of time to prep for the game.

"The Pac-10 is ridiculously hard"

Funniest quote of the year.

Will sc fans boo their beloved trojans as they did after loss to Stanford last year? Play calling was horrible, wondered if Dorrell could have done better. Go Ducks.

TruBruin,

Did you actually attend classes at UCLA? Your grammar is horrendous.

PS USC might SUC, but UCLA swallows.

JR always leaned on great staff and so did Pete in his early years at SC. Once they didn't have a good staff, they faltered. But JR never intentionally lost good staff, they just kept using SC as a pit stop between NFL gigs while not caring about SC.

We've all seen the three areas an HC has to keep up to win:

1. Keeping the right environment- keeping egos from creating selfishness, trouble and discord from affecting coaching, practice and play.

2. Keeping the best coaches on your sideline.

3. Keeping the best players on field- recruiting, development and health.

U Miami and Dallas (to name a few) proved that you don't have to get along or have a love fest but that you have to really be committed to the team through hard work and commitment to excellence. USC always has #3 for lots of reasons. JR lost #2, had then trouble with #1 until it became silly. Wasn't all his fault really- the pressure to win now even w problem kids and the SC atmosphere of big time fb in LA and the NFL placement got to kids head. The painful late 90's fixed #1 more than PC. PC is partially responsible for the loss of #1 and totally responsible for bringing in #2 and- now he's totally responsible for destroying #2.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
