More Montana

We hear Nick Montana, the son of Joe Montana, almost transferred to Venice instead of Oaks Christian. Any time you hear a quarterback might go to Venice, that means he's listening to Steve Clarkson, who was Matt Leinart's personal passing coach.

I don't want Joe's son here. Son of a notre dame alum at USC, pffffff.

I've seen him play and he looks more like HANNAH MONTANA than Joe Montana!!

This is a question for Scott, or anyone else knowledgable about Nick Montana.

Is Nick a legitimate D1 prospect?
If so, is he USC caliber?

I'm just wondering because, although it is nice to get the name recognition of being associated with Joe Montana's offspring, if he isn't a quality player it doesn't really matter who his dad is. So, if anyone in the know could shed some light on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Juice, go out the Open Forum (July 9, 2008 1:57 PM) and post your Montana question for SW in there. Here, you will get a lot of different answers/opinions on whether or not Montana is a legitimate D1 type of QB. Just some food for thought, by heading to Oaks Christian, he has a really good chance to increase his name (how you can you improve your name when its Montana?) and his game. Lets face it, he has a couple of things already going for him, being a Montana, being in Southern Cal and attending OC, but that does not necessarily guarantee that he will become a good D1 prospect (but it doesn't hurt either). Fight On!

Will he attend classes as Miles Cyrus and assume the Montana moniker only for team functions?

Montana is transferring from Concord De La Salle to Oak Christian's where now the QB position resembles the backlog at the RB position in SC's backfield. Here's an interesting tidbit, Gretzky's kid is also competing for the QB position as well. Montana has to have some huge upside if Clarkson took him on as a client.
