Interesting Tidbit
Some of you might be interested to know that Celeste Fremon, the author of the popular Los Angeles Times Magazine piece on the Song Girls, is the creator and editor of a blog, WitnessLA.com, which focuses on ``street news, views and stories of justice and injustice.''

Well there goes the argument that the current coach of the Song Girls uses that alleged increased academic requirements and intelligence are responsible for the decline in quality of the squad during this past decade. I doubt there has been a single Song Girl in the 2000s who could match the intelligence and range of Ms Fremon.
Agree completely. This whole "increased academic standards" line is totally bogus. I know Song Girls from the 1990s who went on to earn an MD, PhD, EdD, MBAs, JDs, among various other degrees.
I know Song Girls from the 1990s that are now professors at various universities. They got these positions while still in their 20s.
Meanwhile, the Song Girls from the 2000s are answering telephones or working as real estate agents, putting their degrees in Communications (ahem...) to use.
Fact: The Song Girls from the 1990s were beautiful and far more intelligent than the Song Girls from the 2000s.
The academic excuse for the decline in Song Girl quality is false and can be proven wrong with irrefutable evidence.
Truth is, we need different people heading up the Song Girls. Until that happens, expect unattractive and socially awkward Song Girls who cheer for the other team on national TV!
