Honeycutt Eval
I asked a college coach for a breakdown on Sylmar's 6-8 forward Tyler Honeycutt, who has been offered a scholarship by USC.
``He's skinny, has nice range and is a real prospect,'' the coach said. ``He's really kind of like (Arizona forward) Chase Budinger. Not as good, but that type of player.''

Darn, it looks as if USC still is the University of Second Choice when it comes to basketball recruits in this town, playing second fiddle to that evil empire across town. Perceptions die slowly, what with UGLA basketball still perceived as the best place to showcase a great player's talents in preparation for the pros.
Of course the opposite situation exists in football, which I would choose over basketball in a New York minute (and so would any honest bRUIN).
Still, I want to be No. 1 in basketball, too. SC now has the best arena, a great coach, plays exciting team ball, and has some NCAA momentum. Time, it will take time; it may come with more time. I will continue to wait...and to hope.
Meanwhile, most of the bloggers say what are you talking about, fool, it is all about the song girls.
God help us.
