Curious Decision
Pete Carroll decided to have graduate assistant Yogi Roth handle the kickers and snappers following the departure of Sam Anno. It's an interesting move because to my knowledge, he does not have prior experience with the kicking game.

It makes perfect sense since Pete has decided he will never have another Asst Coach who will be able to steal any credit if he manages to win another NC.
Pete knows Yogi is not a threat, which makes him the perfect choice. The fact he cant do the job he is appointed to do mean nothing.
Yogi has worked with the QBs who frequently handle the holder role. I don't think we know if Yogi had special teams experience at Pitt, but it is likely. Anyway, any good manager promotes talent from within, and Yogi seems like a smart, young coach. So, this makes sense to me. Ludicrous to think that we need to go out and hire the country's most experienced kicking coach for this duty. Promoting talent from within is good management, PC.
Hide the picnic baskets and watch out for the Park Ranger.
USC 89 NAILED it and DWFTrojan is the typical rah rah who doesn't get it. Pete has become a clown when it comes to his assistant coaches and Yogi is a clown. And what does it matter anyway, Pete has never cared about special teams, just look at the trail of "coaches" that have held that position. Just go to Youtube and put Yogi Roth in the search, you'll laugh your azz off at what comes out of his mouth.
When PC comes to a fork in the road, he takes it.
Kiffen didn't have experience either when PC put CF greatest offense ever in his hands.
"picnic baskets"
nice.
