The fullback position, the Rising Stars camp and Notre Dame/Beano Cook are discussed here.

Q: With Rowe ineligle and Jordan Campbell moved to LB, what is up with the fullback depth? Please comment on whether the coaches have plans for Bradford here, or plan to use 2 TBs/or single back more, or have a confidence in Adam Goodman, etc.

A: They are happy with Stanley Havili as long as he stays healthy with Goodman as the backup. But if there is an injury, I think Broderick Green becomes a vital option as well as Bradford, who clearly does not like the position. But I think Green can be a significant fullback if he learns the blocking schemes.

Q: What does a recruit do at the Rising Stars Camp? Do they run thought drills, scrimmage, interview with coaches, get timed, weighed and/or measured, is it overnight in the dorms etc.

A: That pretty much sums up all the business side of things and they also do a few off-field activities to break up the monotony of the football.

Q: You seem to value Beano Cook's opinion when it comes to college football, and the Song Girls. So I ask you this, what do you think of Beano's recent comments on an espn.com podcast in which he said "Notre Dame will be at least 9-3, 10-2 in 2008"? Beano continued on by saying, "If they beat Michigan, I think they'll be 10-2. ... They're not playing with a bunch of biology students. They have material." Beano made it seem as though Notre Dame would being coming to the Coliseum in 2008 with a one lose record. What do you think?

A: It's not an entirely crazy thought when you consider Notre Dame's schedule. But Beano Cook is unquestionably the most entertaining commenter on college football and I'd encourage you to listen to his podcasts because they combine humor and history like no one else can do. And his references to the USC song girls are done in fondness from his memories of coming to games in the early 1970's.

Ahem. BEANO COOK? That's it. I'm done with this blog. It's all about blowhards and song girls.
Beano Cook. Knowing there's someone in the business who still listens to him give me a chuckle. ha ha. Ron Powlus and what not.

Thanks for the Rising Stars answer.

I'd like to see Notre Dame win every game but one.

I'm all for a strength of schedule boost from ND, but come on Sam. They are easier to hate than UCLA with gut-tucking Charlie on the sidelines.

I'll root for them when he acknowledges his obesity and rocks his gut over the belt like any self-respecting guy would. Or not.
