Wow.
UCLA, well, "won" against Concordia 62-61 tonight, but Ben Howland will not be happy.
That was 40 minutes of some sloppy basketball.
* UCLA's perimeter rotation was just dreadful, and Concordia made the Bruins pay.
* Drew Gordon was solid in the post but needs to convert easy baskets.
* BoBo Morgan looked decent early but became a non-factor.
* Jerime Anderson was sorely missed, and the Bruins will need his handles.
* Malcolm Lee certainly made strides from last season, but he needs to take care of the ball better.

Unfortunately, Ryan Walcott aint walkin thru those doors anytime soon. Jerime will be ready soon.
Thank God that this dreadful football season is ending. We are Basketball U right? Going to be a long season for us UCLA fans...

Clearly CalGirl needs to go shave her legs and pitts...and then go find something stupid to protest about.
I was at the game and Jon's bullet points are all right on.
-Malcolm Lee has DEFINITELY made progress from last year and will be a stud. Too many times he was dribbling the ball around because it didn't seem like his players were moving without the ball too well. He's really athletic.
-Nelson looked pretty good as well...and like a clip on scout.com he will definitely be a rebounded and defender first.
-Drew Gordon has tons of heart and just a desire to win but still need to keep it in check a bit....especially since the rim blocked his easy soft dunk on an early play.
-Dragovic hit a couple shots but really didn't come across as someone who is going to put up solid dependable numbers all season long.
-Bobo does look substantially more in shape this season and had a nice spin move or two but it still a ways away from being a consistent go to guy down low in the post in terms of offense.
-Honeycutt looked very lean...I guess a typical freshman and Moser looked like he had a bit more weight and has good potential.
-And last but definitely not least, the Dance and Cheerleading teams are as talented as ever.
Granted Jerime Anderson and Mike Roll didn't play, but with the team out there tonight it was painstakingly obvious that we're going to be down in the guard department this year. If I'm a top guard recruit I would be licking my chops to come to UCLA...especially is Josh Smith comes aboard.
nice to see you back, CallGirl.
i just have one question for you.
how do you do those little hearts? they're super delicious!
