Shipp and the Bulls
While I am told UCLA wing Josh Shipp has an offer of more than $200,000 to play in Italy, I am also being told he really wants to give the NBA a shot and may go that direction. A source told me Shipp has an invitation to play for the Chicago Bulls in a summer league.

About Inside UCLA
This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.About this Entry

PLAY IN ITALY AND GET PAID. YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE NBA!
BULL SHIPP!!!!
Wasn't Josh suppose to join Collison playing in Europe or is that the other way around? Are the Hornets moving overseas for next season?
Too bad you can't bump threads to remind people how wrong they can be.
Sadly, odds would favor Branden Warner attending UCLA over Shipp making an NBA team.
Josh Shipp should chase his NBA dream. If not now, then when? If he fails at the NBA, well, at least he can fall back on that great UCLA college degree we are always told about. Just like First Down Freddie Mitchell. Isn't he teaching High School somewhere?
Freddy has been teaching nuclear physics at USC lately.
USC has a WHOLE BUNCH of Full Professors who, as Assistant Professors, were denied tenure at UCLA, Cal, UC Irvine and USCD. Then USC hired them as FULL PROFESSORS!
Sad, but TRUE!
When did being a HS teacher become a waste of a degree?
OTOH, Stais Boseman is using his SC degree like many other Trojans: finding a way to get the charges dropped.
Shipp should go to the Italian league. This is like a game of Deal or No Deal. Take the sure deal.
Brian - I think it is time to lock down Blueblood. He has nothing to offer this board and does nothing but start BS posting sequences.
I actually like Bluebird's wit. He tries to talk trash with style. Let's get a death match with him and Yoda!! The back and forth on a post or two ago about Costco cracked me up.
Bluebird, like most trOJies, seem to only have memories of their football program from the Day Pete Carroll was hired till today. Unlike them, I also remember the half full stadiums at the Coliseum where the only thing you could see was Paul "Can't" Hackett looking lost and confused on the sidelines.
Have no fear Bruins...order will be restored again for SUC once the NCAA gives them what they deserve.

Why can't he do both? Lega Basket Serie A only has a 30 game regular season so it can't start much earlier than October, probably not until November or December. Isn't the summer league in August? I don't see why he can't give the NBA a chance and if it doesn't work out head to Europe. Paul Shirley chronicled how he did this a couple times in his book so I doubt it is a contract issue. Does the Italian team really need him all summer? Any clarification Brian?
New Top Safety Commit Earnest Thomas
Looks like a top ranked and highly sought after recruit, Earnest Thomas, a safety from Michigan has picked UCLA over Michigan, Illinois, Penn State, and 13 other offers including Stanford. Since Stanford offered, you can be sure he is a great student. He has nice size and looks like a good get. With some added weight and size, he could conceivably even play linebacker or be a monster at Safety. Looks like CRN pulled a rabbit out of a hat with this one. I certainly didn't see this coming as our next commit.
He texted Scout late tonight, so you know he wanted people to know he was a Bruin ASAP.

BruinFaithful,
I am surprised at your joy over another lowly 3 star recruit???? A change of heart on the topic?
Clearly, Neu is now working on a national recruiting base which is only good news for UCLA. D-1 teams in the upper tier recruit well nationally. Something sorely lacking with the previous staff. Props to CRN
Johnny Whiplash,
"Wasn't Josh supposed to join Collison playing in Europe or is that the other way around?"
Soon as in when his 3rd year option does not get picked up by the Hornets. Regardless, he will still get a few million dollars out of it though.
I am just saying that Shipp should be realistic about his game and take the money in Europe.
