Branden Warner update

| | Comments (11) |

I am told UCLA is still awaiting the transcripts of Compton College defensive tackle Branden Warner, who is supposed to enroll next month and compete for a starting spot in August training camp.
I was told he is supposed to take care of his tuition bill this week (maybe even today) and the transcripts should be released to UCLA shortly thereafter.
However, UCLA will still have to look them over and make sure he took and passed the necessary classes before he can be admitted to the school.

I smell another clearinghouse issue like Kevin Price and Milton Knox here! The process of this kid paying off his bill has been at a snails pace......Your telling me that there is no way that the results on the transcripts are not even available until this kid pays up? Something is clearly wierd about this Warner
kids situation and its going to be a shame if he has to sit out half the season because of red-tape like Price and Knox especially because he's only got two years of eligibility left.

Do you mean Brian Price?

Brian - Did you check or ask if Warner was able to provide UCLA with an UNOFFICIAL Transcript? Obviously it is what it is, but if that was provided, I would think (hope???) it could save alot of time when the OFFICIAL copy arrives. Depending on the school, I think unoffical transcripts can be had quite easily, like within minutes of being requested.

Somehow, if this was a USC recruit, the bills would all be taken care of.

I'm predicting the bills will be the easiest part of this whole situation that needs to be resolved.

If this were USC, they would not even be looking at a JC Transfer for the D-Line. There are already too many 5-Star recruits sitting on the old Pine Bench. Sorry to burst your bubble, but in all honesty, USC doesn't need any JC recruits at this time. Sorry, but that is only the truth.

Agree with the posters above, something smells very FISHY and SHADY about this whole process. It is said that when it smells around the edges, its usually rotten inside. I wonder what Neu will do or say behind the scense to get this JC transfer into UCLA.

And somehow most of their five star recruits bust anyway, either at SUC or in the NFL. Funny how that works. Also, I would think before I spoke if I were you. They just signed a DT, Hebron Fangupo, in the most recent class.

The ignorance of trojans like yourself is quite amusing. But hey what else could you expect from a sub-par academic university??

Neuheisel will do the RIGHT thing get him into UCLA. On the other hand, maybe Rick should start telling recruits that they have no character if they turn down a campus visit.

Sorry to burst YOUR bubble Lawyer John. In all honesty, You are a complete dope and you don't know what you are talking about. Did you go to SUC? It sounds like it.

One of the main signees of the 2009 class for SUC was Hebron Fangupo a JC transfer.

Moron John didn't even go to sc, and he isn't even liked on Wolfe's blog. The inferiority of not getting into fig tech compells him to tell the world he is a lawyer. A pretend trojan uses words such as fishy and shady to describe other coaches and programs. He is too far removed from the cesspool in south central to understand the absurdity he subjects others to.

Trolling on for Thug U.

Lawyer John:

According to your theory the Mayo and Bush situation has already rotted to the edges.

Considering the problems SUC is having, why would you even want to come on here and spew on about a non event? Oh I remember, it's because you get berated on Wolfie's blog too. Sorry sap.

Don't let this guy get you all worked up Mike, he's not even a SUC Alum. He's just a wanna be never has been.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
