Olson injures foot again

| | Comments (14) |

The bad luck continues for former UCLA quarterback Ben Olson, who re-aggravated the foot injury that forced him to miss the 2008 season. He will not take part in tomorrow's pro day at UCLA. I will have more on it in Tuesday's paper.

Poor guy. Put him in a bubble already and be done with it.

Ben has some bad luck. Maybe he should consider another line of work before he permanently inures himself.

LOL. At least in 2009, I won't have to hear any fans say: (a) "Put in Olson;" (b) "Take out Olson;" (c) Why don't we play Olson?;" (d) "Put in Forcier;" (e) Take out Forcier;" OR (f) Why don't we play Forcier?"

Now, we just have to hear:

(a) "Put in Brehaut;" (b) "Take out Brehaut;" (c) Why don't we play Brehaut?;" (d) "Put in Prince;" (e) Take out Prince;" (f) "Why don't we play Prince?;" OR REPEAT FOR RASHAAN AND CRAFT . . . .

Doesn't surprise me. It's unfortunate to say but he's made of glass.

UB is killing me. That is all I ever heard in Section 2 last season. I wish the best for Ben.

Yes, PR, it was the same in tunnell 19. We had "Captain Horsesheeeet" sitting two rows behind us that chirped EVERY game about EVERY thing -- all negative, of course. Every time Craft would throw a pick, the "Captain" would spew his garbage, which incited the "Put in Forcier" chants. Get ready for the Prince/Brehaut/Craft/Crissman/Osaar chants every time the QB gets picked or fumbles. It is inevitable.

Have some class guys. Imagine how crushing it is for him, but he keeps fighting on. That's something to admire. He's still a Bruin and I wish him the best.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
