Thigpen to UCLA
RB Damien Thigpen of Stonewall Jackson High in Manassas, Va., just announced he is going to UCLA, according to the school's athletic director, Kevin Turner.
"He just made his decision,'' Turner said. "He had four hats up there, and he picked the UCLA one."

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Absolutely thrilled to get bonafide track speed on the team to compliment other backs. Hasiak is probably the biggest last second splash today. It stinks to lose Sanders but some attrition on signing day is unavoidable so long as the cut doesn't become a knife wound.

I don't know how they got Thigpen to sign but this guy is a rocket ship, under 4.4 in the 40 and can bench almost 300 pounds! A slightly taller version of Maurice Drew!! Watch some of his highlights, wow!!
