Dean update

| | Comments (11) |

I ran into UCLA freshman running back Aundre Dean on campus, and he was raving about how well the offseason workouts were going. He said the competition factor is very high, and he's heard the veterans talking about how much tougher things are this offseason than the last few.
Dean also said he is looking forward to having a big spring and prove he can be one of UCLA's top backs.

Dean is my starting running back in NCAA 09. I just scored 6 Rushing TDs with him. If he can do that in real life, he can have my PS3....

I like hearing this attitude from Dean, I was a bit concerned about this guy leaving after last season. He is one of those kids that was all world in high school at a smaller school in Texas and moving up to the big time was a little bit of a reality check for him. Hopefully he will step up and gain some tough yards for us next year

"starting running back in NCAA 09"?

That's right, stick with video fantasies little boy.

Another year, batch of losers....

Katy High School is class 5A in Texas - the largest classification they have. His team won the state champinship for the southern division. Nothing 'smaller' about his school, at all.

It is an open secret that some posters on here do not know what they are talking about. Case in point is Dean's high school.

I like Dean a lot. Too bad he burned his redshirt year on a couple of bum carries behind a weak and gimpy OL. This year he should show marked improvement, especially when he learns to pick up the blitz.

That is awesome news. Every once in a while I have to look up his video from high school because it is amazing.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
