More on the commitments
I talked to Marlon Pollard and Billy Sanders, and both talked about the four commitments UCLA received tonight. They said it took place during a get-together at coach Rick Neuheisel's house, and both said the energy and work Neuheisel is doing was inspiring to them.
(By the way, the two silents commits were Pollard and Sanders.)

About Inside UCLA
This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.About this Entry

I questioned Neuheisel's ability to recruit, but I think that with SoCal as his base, he is going to bring in top 15-20 classes year in and year out.
Neuheisel must have a pretty big place if he can have 15 plus recruits as his house, plus their parents.
Great Job Coach! Getting top kids to change from other schools to UCLA! Frickin' Awesome!!! Thanks Brian - you must not sleep much and us Bruins love you for the non-stop updates!
Dohn, any more commitments you're hearing about that will become public later this weekend or is this all (don't get me wrong I'm stoked about these 4) you expect?
Any word on Flournoy and Carroll?
There's a chance for two or three more Sunday, but also possible none.
So there's a possibility Neuheisel will pull a clean sweep and get all the kids visiting (who aren't yet committed)?...impressive...
Brian, thanks for the amazing work you do...The breaking news you provide us is fantastic. I'm very excited about the future of our program with Neuheisel at the helm. I hope his energy and excitment is contagious with everyone who loves Bruin Football!
Brian can you please tell me why they were silent commits?
Brian, just wanted to thank you for all your hard work. Please know that it is greatly appreciated!
That being said, are the players wired? :)
Wow...is my face red after bad-mouthing Pollard earlier in the week...did Neu & Co. stay on top of Marlon or was this the case of the prodigal son coming home with his metaphorical tail between his legs?
Brian, who do we have a better shot of landing by the end of the weekend flournoy or carroll?
i hope we get carroll. My cousin is a Cathedral H.S. grad and an avid SC fan. I would luv to tease him about a 2nd SC decommit
Brian thanks for the incredible fast updates. Pretty soon we will have a Great football team to go along with this great blog.
GO Coach Neu, Kick PC's a#$.
Yes, Anonymous, Rick has a lot of money. What with all the contract buyouts, lawsuits...
He's got Pete Carroll money and a Kirk Koetter resume.
Hmmm...how many Rose Bowls did Koetter win?
Nervous, bitter, or both, Brent?
Kirk Koetter is the new Dirk Diggler
This is very impressive! What are the chances that we wind up with the No. 1 recruiting class in Ameica? Am I too bold to think this is possible? I think Coach Neuheiselis dreamy! He definitely has made UCLA the No. 1 football team in Los Angeles!
Oh, one more question - is my hair on fire?
hahahahaha.
top recruiting class?? where? Still no top OLINE. 2 and 3 star recruits just will not cut it!! Carroll or Flournoy will not get the ball if they decommitt because the QB will not have the time to throw... sad, sad, sad
The craziest thing Dohn, although you may or may not believe it...but my buddy who is a personnel trainer who is currently training Pollard had told me he was leaning toward UCLA a few weeks ago. I didn't open my mouth because I wasn't sure about it. I've also seen this kid up close and watched him work out. He has outstanding hip and lower body strength and looks very quick..BUT he really needs to add some serious weight. This guy is tiny.
I don't like to admit this to anybody, but I have also been working out with a personnel trainer. To date, I have not lost any weight. Maybe I should switch to the personnel trainer working with Pollard. Time to switch personnel.
LAWYER JOHN,
If you serious, I can get you in contact with him. I'm not sure how close you are to the I.E. or if you mind the drive out here, but all his clients are here in the 909.
Bruin78, thanks for your pointed comment. Your point is well taken. Yes, I am serious about working with a new personnel trainer. I am very serious about getting fit and beginning the new year on the right foot. Unfortunately, the Inland Empire and 909 is albeit just a tad too far from my busy law office in South Central Los Angeles in the 323. Thank you for your kind offer. Cheers.
LAWYER JOHN
Right, I used the word "personnel" instead of "personal"...very good.
You're so witty.
