Bruins resolutions
If you were running the UCLA athletic department, what would be your New Year's resolution for the school? Getting the university to loosen its academic standards? Breaking ground on the Pauley Pavilion rennovations?

About Inside UCLA
This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.About this Entry

Give UCLA basketball the world-class arena it deserves.
Beat SC!
all the above, plus new football uniforms!!!
I'd resolve to understand that not all championships are created equal. Realizing that, say, a water polo title does not carry the same weight as victory in other sports, I'd resolve to do the things necessary to achieve ultimate success in the most important sports in a manner that continues to uphold the high standards of one of America's great public universities.
making Maverick Bruin.com an officially sanctioned web site for UCLA Football
1. Beat $c
2. Lighten up on the academic standards
3. Renovation of Pauley
4. New Uni's for FB including the helmet logo
5. Beat $c

Hire a defensive coordinator from the pros that can recruit and bring a newe attitude in place of the departed Coach walker.
SPANK USC!
Get revenge on all those teams that beat us cause of our lack of offense.
Brainwash Kevin Craft into throwing better passes.
Keep our o linemen in the gym until summer.
Manti Te'o!
get back to the top in men's and women's track.
Drop adidas get sign up with Nike!
Golly, gee, I understand why UGLA hates SUC football so much. What a freakin' dynasty is the Trojans.
I would only hope for a competitive game next year at the coliseum, forgettabout winning. It ain't going to happen in 2009 for sure.
And now for basketball. SC has had some forward setbacks but ucla better be prepared for a war a week from Sunday at Galen. And I believe SC will have the momentum and will win. It is time SC owns Los Angeles in basketball, too, and its time is coming.

Finally admit that fielding a competitive football program is a pipe dream, and just concentrate on basketball. I'm getting tired of watching USC beat up on everybody else in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day every year. I'm getting tired of USC beating up on UCLA every season at the Rose Bowl or Coliseum. I'm tired of "new uniforms" and other boring excuses for a football program that should be ranked in the top 10 every year, but is closer to the bottom 10 year after year. Neuheisel is not the answer. Walker is gone. Chow is trying to make filet mignon with ground round. Let's face it, the top players will never want to play for the Bruins with the current regime in place. Something obviously is wrong when the same talentless quarterback is told to throw the ball to the opposing team week after week, and the head coach yells at the quarterback afterward on the sideline. This season was the coaches' faults, plain and simple.
Tell the Daily News to dump Dullsville-Dohn and replace him with PrimeTime-Painter
Just win baby
Resolve to dump ONLYMENDACITY from UCLA sites and to steal at least two more $UC football commits. Give us Randall Carroll at and one other.
Also resolve to continue to build on the defensive foundation established by DWalker. Even though we lost to the crosstown clowns this year, at least those guys were smacking Stafon, Sanchez and Co. around (eliciting complaints of "too rough" play from Pom Pom...how ironic?)
A overall football turnaround would be great.
Loosen the academic standards? Can somebody actually tell me what they are? I hear this and that, but nobody has actually produced actual facts, beyond second hand chatter. Has anybody talked to any admissions people at any other schools?
This is football, not a debate. What a joke....
Let's hope that UGLA is banned from dragging the PAC-10 down year after year during bowl season. UCLA...the joke of the PAC-10.
I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned this: DUMP the worst play-by-play radio announcer in all of sports, Chris Roberts, and bring in a talented professional who is both interesting to listen to and can actually keep UP with the action.
