Locker room quickie

In talking to players, the message coming out of the locker room is that work will be done by the seniors to make sure there is no division between the offense and the defense.
They are also still holding onto hope of winning the final three games of the season and getting to a bowl. And, yes, each person knew USC was still on the schedule.
As for the QBs, I asked Rick Neuheisel what is keeping Chris Forcier from getting meaningful snaps, and he bluntly said Forcier doesn't have a firm enough grasp on the offense.

Brian - thanks for setting up the game chat. As the saying goes, misery loves company.

Brian, that excuse by RN about Forcier is just a coach spinning it. There is no real reason why he isn't playing except for the fact that the staff won't put him in for any length of time. Putting him in at the end of the game was an insult to Forcier. How much worse could it "really" get with him in there? When you're on the bottom all you can do is look up. I'm really disappointed in RN and NC on how they have handled the QB's. While we're at it the Dean situation is even worse.

Wow. It really never ceases to amaze me when armchair QB's think that they know more than professional coaches...

I agree with you BruinFBBB, it seems as though some of the people on here feel that if Forcier were to start that somehow the O-line would learn to block and we would be all good. Also people on here are questioning CRN and Chow, I agree that the coaches are overall responsible, but these guys just do not have any talent to work with. Remember, the Bruins are on there 3rd string QB, who knows what string at the different O-line positions. We just need to get some talent in there, and that is not going to happen this year, no matter who starts.

Locker room "Quickie."

LOL... I thought I was going to read a scandalous story.

I don[t think anybody is saying they more than the coaches. Just a simple observation by a fan. Lighten up...

I said this in chat. Forcier is this year's Osaar Rasshan to fans. If you remember last year everyone was begging for Osaar, and then he got his chance and was bad.

They are the fictitious savior for upset fans like us who can't believe we're that bad.

The coaches see these guys play every day. If RN thinks that Forcier shouldn't be in I'm going to trust him on that. I would have liked to see him in the end but RN was probably thinking that he's stuck w/ Craft for 3 more games so might as well get him the in-game practice.

Stary day of sorts...Since Ore St swept LA this season I wonder if we shouldn't be recruiting more of the 2 stars that the Beavers get than the 4 and 5 stars that the supposed top tier teams go after? To BD's point about meaningful stars (double entendre? perhaps).

And Craft does have a firm grasp of the offense?

Brufan, the funny thing is, we DO recruit players that finally commit to OSU! They just can't seem to find a way past UCLA admissions!!! With the exception of Stanford, it's the case with every other Pac 10 team.

Btw, half of OSU's players are from JCs. It doesn't help that the Bruins limit themselves to physically underdeveloped high schools kids who like to study.

After reading the item by Fan4Life about the Oregon State roster full of JC kids, it looked like something to check. Actually there are 11 with 2 being qualifiers out of high school. There are some other transfers from 4 year schools. The JC numbers constitute about 10 percent including the two qualifiers.

CRN says Forcier does not know the offense well enough! What offense! I say that's a big reason to put Forcier in now. Nobody can really disagree that he would do any worse than Craft. And what about Osaar? Yeah, he doesn't pass well, but neither does Craft. I see no reason now not to try an new QB. As I have said many times before, Craft is not, not, not a decent D-1 QB and never will be! He has proven that. Sit him down and try someone else! Anyone else!!

Anonymous said:

keptycho , you are correct that Craft is not a good D-1 QB, that is why he is the THIRD string QB on a bad team! Also, about the can't do any worse, I disagree with that. Maybe CRN feels that if Forcier plays we would have 59-0 games every game. I would rather lose by a few touchdowns rather than 59-0 every game. Unless the team had 0 wins, there is still some downhill left. I', fine with where we are because I understand how bad the talent is at most positions.

UCLA's Quarterback is playing intramural Football and that would be Jacob Crook again who was in the Class of Sanchez and Tutiama left UNLV and walked on at UCLA was running the scout team last year and by far is better athlete than Craft ever will be but wasnt asked back because of Craft. Oh well Daddy got Craft in so we're stuck with him.Even I can throw better than Craft. Blaming the O-Line is a cop-out.
Way to go RN you're first big UHHH OOHHHH! the one that got away
