Sorry, folks, was in a meeting, but just got word that Punahou (Honolulu) receiver Roby Toma called UCLA and gave his non-binding oral commitment, which was expected. I will have more on it later.

Ehhhh... The #268 ranked receiver in the nation, with no other offers from any other D1 schools.... Why did we even consider this guy?

For every 2 star player that succeeds, there are 1000 that fail. Theres a reason they are rated 2-3 stars.

Wrong he had an offer from Army, you know that team that throws it all over the place.

UCLA offered this guy to get Te'o. Time to stop harping on SC about Lil Romeo

I have no problem with this commit. If you watch the video on him, he's has some quicks & good hands. If you watch the college game, plays are made all the time w/ players who will never get a sniff of the nfl & were mere 2 star players.

Besides, if he can help land Te'o, it's worth it.

Toma and Lil Romeo are worlds apart.

Let's wait to see what Dohn has to say before making any snap judgements.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
