I am hearing UCLA men's basketball coach Ben Howland will be in Tacoma, Wash., today to watch Bellarmine Prep point guard Abdul Gaddy practice.

Looks like CBH is putting the full court press on Gaddy.

Howland walks what he talks. Great example of rolling up your sleeves and giving it your best to get the job done.

Gaddy is the missing piece to the stellar 2009 class. I like the fact that, if he commits to play UCLA basketball, Gaddy will be in Westwood for at least two years.

GO Bruins!

Too late my friends. Gaddy just committed to the Huskies.

Too late. Gaddy's a Husky as of 8pm tonight. But cheer up. You'll get to see plenty of him, wearing Purple and Gold.

Dang...

Hey LA Husky - too bad for Gaddy. Everytime he plays the Bruins in his 2 or 3 years at UW, while wearing his purple and gold, he'll be saying to himself - "WHAT WAS I THINKING????"

If true that Gaddy is going of UW, then does not surprise me. The #1 goal is not going and winning at college, the #1 goal of every top 50 highschool BB is how quickly can I get to the Pro's.

If he goes to UCLA, he risks not starting in his 1st year. Then he may not get to the pros in his 1st or 2nd year.

It is always interesting to read the reactions of many fans when the player commits to their school versus their opponent. Not much different than today's elections.

Lorenzo Romar has been recruiting Abdul Gaddy since he was a high school freshman. He has a great relationship with him but was not intiially able to overcome Gaddy's admiration for Lute Olsen and the Arizona Wildcats. With Lute out of the picture, that changed. When reconsidering, his strongest relationship was with the Washington staff and he likes their style of play so why not stay home.

Obviuosly he is the kind of talent that will get playing time wherever he goes. He will not be 17 until January so will be in college at least two years. As for a comment I read on the UCLA Scout blog that he will be wishing he was a Bruin everytime UCLA and UW play, please remember the Bruins have not won in Seattle much lately.

To net it out, the Bruins have a very good team but the Huskies are getting better and Lorenzo Romar is staying home, like Gaddy.
