Post-practice notes

| | Comments (0) |

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel said after the evening practice he was pleased with the offensive tempo and the way the offense worked in both sessions today, but what would be a post-practice get together without another injury update.
Neuheisel said freshman running back Derrick Coleman has torn meniscus in his knee, but he was unsure if arthroscopic surgery was going to be performed or if Coleman was going to try and play through it. More information on that could come tonight.
Also, x-rays on linebacker Josh Edwards' foot came back normal, and Edwards was in uniform and should be back at full practice soon.
There was also a lot of work done on special teams, which Neuheisel considers vital since he believes UCLA will play a lot of close games this season.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
