On the OL

There is plenty of movement going on with the offensive line and players moving around. In talking with offensive line coach Bob Palcic, it seems the only two positions set are Micah Reed at center and Micah Kia at left tackle.
In fact, there is a daily shift going on, and when I get out to practice today I expect to see a different combination than I saw Tuesday.
That said, I know one of the things that kept guard Darius Savage and tackle Nate Chandler off the first team earlier this week was lack of knowledge about their assignments. I know that is something Palcic does not tolerate.
The other three in the mix for starting spots are Scott Glicksberg and Sonny Tevaga at guard and Nick Ekbatani at right tackle.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
