Pollard de-commits from UCLA
According to scout.com, CB Marlon Pollard de-committed from UCLA and has committed to Notre Dame.
``We opened the possibility of looking elsewhere, and we talked with the coaches at UCLA and obviously everyone knows there was a big coaching change," Rachael Pollard told Scout.com. "Right around that time, we thought we should at least explore other opportunities, not because of the coaching staff, Rick (Neuheisel) is a great guy and the people he's brought on have helped strengthen that coaching staff. We are not leaving UCLA because they don't have the potential to win there. They're a great program, with great facilities and a great.''
I'll try to have more on this soon.

I don't think this was the type of recruiting news fans were clamoring for.
What to make of this? Hard to say since you would think DeWayne Walker was integral in recruiting Polland and DW is still here. Could it be the absence of both Karl and Scott? Playing time? The possibility of Walker leaving in a few years? What?
Whatever the issue is or are, the fact remains the current staff has to prove it on the field this fall. Results (Ws) are the only thing the matters.
Good luck to Marlon.
no one wants their kid to play for Neuweasel, a known scum bag and cheater! i hope D Walker gets out of there real soon!!!
It is only natural that some guys were going to want to leave with all the coaching changes. The staff has done an amazing job keeping all the recruits and players it did. I am looking forward to the Reggie Bush proceedings. It would be wonderful to see USC lose some championships and scholarships and be banned from tv as a result. We'll see who gets the last laugh.
Hopefully this does not become a consistent trend. While the next year or two is HUGE for the direction of the program, I thought RN would be able to push it to the next level. The "next level" was clearly going to to be through the defensive side of the football, but it seems recruits - and maybe Walker - do not want to stick around the next few years to find out. However, I do not feel the program will dwell in mediocrity; we are going up or down and this year will help determine whether we will be leveled back up into national prominence or be the next Pac-10 dog. Lets just hope it all comes together this year for a Darrell-esque 6-6 season.
