Here is the fourth installment:

Is Forcier going to be buried on the depth chart behind Crissman and Prince?I think there is a very good chance of that happening. If not in training camp, then at some point early in the season. I'm told UCLA wants one of the freshmen to be the No. 3 quarterback.

Have you heard anything about how the incoming freshmen are doing in the 7 on 7's? I know Kimbrel said Moutra was very impressive and looked as if he was going to be playing against UT on Spet. 1. What about the others?I was out at the 7-on-7s on Thursday, and will be out again next week. Rahim Moore and Aaron Hester stand out, and everyone was raving about Moutra's play at receiver. The upperclassmen are also talking about Aundre Dean a lot.

Is Raymond Carter fully recovered from his knee injury? He is supposed to be ready for training camp. He looked fine doing agility work and running pass patterns.

What have you been hearing about Dean and Knox's opportuinty to play this year? ( I know Dean is going to play, but how much... is knox going to redshirt)?I think Dean will fight for plenty of playing time, and I expect him to get more carries as the season moves on. I'm not sure about Knox, but right now I expect him to red-shirt.

Is Rahim Moore competing for the starting FS spot or the corner position opposite ATV? Moore will compete with Aaron Ware for time at free safety.

Where do you see Datone Jones fitting in this year?Getting a fair amount of playing time at defensive end.

Why do UCLA fans and fans alike continue to be delusional about oral commitments they mean nothing until January? Also do believe RH is naive to believe recruiting starts in September and that recruiting out of state is as important to local?I disagree about oral commitments meaning nothing. They aren't the end-all and be-all at this point, but many of these kids take pride in sticking to their word, and coaches often use that as a ploy if a kid is getting ready to flip.
As far as Neuheisel and recruiting, he knows it is a year-round thing, but it has changed a bit since he was coach at Washington. He's a bright guy. I would think the 2010 class will be put together much quicker. Also, don't forget that Neuheisel had to put together a staff and had no background or relationships with the 2009 kids, so of course UCLA is going to be slower on that stuff. And as far as out-of-state vs. local recruiting, he told me no more than 30 percent of the kids should come from outside of SoCal.

Is Kyle Caldwell serious about walking on to the men's hoops team? If you recall, he's a 6'9" incoming freshman who already has a volleyball scholarship with the Bruins...I don't see it, because that would mean giving up his volleyball scholarship. According to NCAA rules, if someone plays football or men's basketball and another sport, the scholarship must come from football or men's basketball. Therefore, in order for him to play basketball, he would either have to be put on a basketball scholarship, or forfeit his volleyball scholarship and walk-on with both sports.

What are UCLA's chances with Marlon Brown. He said having great coaches is his deciding factor and he talked openly about how much he admires coach Chow. Is there a legitmate chance he ends up a bruin or is he too much of a "national recruit" for the UCLA.I don't think the national recruit is the reason, but I don't see him winding up at UCLA. Most of these kids think the school they are going to has great coaches, and there is no guarantee how long Chow will be in Westwood.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
