Here is the third set of answers:

Do you know if 7 on 7s will continue next week? If so, where and for what field are they scheduled? They are throwing next week, but UCLA asks me not to publicize the time or location because they don't want a big crowd. That is a request I will honor.

Any early info on how Ben Olsen is throwing (if he is) and how he and Craft compare so far. Any feelings expressed by the players about their preference? It is too early for either. Olson isn't throwing yet, and the 7-on-7s began Monday, and there have only been three or them.

Any news on Mata-Real or Mbah a Moute?Mata-Real is playing for the summer league team of the Lakers (although he is not expected to stick, but rather just filling out the roster) and Mbah a Moute agreed to a multi-year deal with Milwaukee and is playing for the summer league team in Las Vegas.

How much of a chance do we have with the OL Phillipp and Martinez?I'm hearing UCLA has a very good shot at Philipp. I'm a bit more skeptical with Martinez because he is an out-of-stater, but I know UCLA made him a priority.

I didn't read much in the blog about the 3-day camp we had for football a few weeks back. Do you have any news?I do not. I was on vacation at the time, and was not down there. I know in talking to my sources it went well, but there was some surprise commitments didn't come out of it.

Is there concern over losing two highly-rated recruits, even if the losses were not at a position of need?I think there is a small amount, but that is it. I believe part of the issue is UCLA is not expected to be a league contender for a few years because so much rebuilding needs to be done (even if coach Rick Neuheisel will not say so), and it is not as if the kids committed to poor schools. One chose USC and the other took Notre Dame.

Has the Pressley and Randall Carroll talk of being "soft" to USC died down? Not really. I just think that it was hot because there was news of them attending camps, but both of those recruitments are a long ways from being over.

I hear Vontaze Burfict is looking elsewhere...would he have the grades to qualify?I don't comment about grades unless a kid has already publicly done so, and I expect him to remain at USC.

Are Palacic and Howard on the hot seat to get some strong OL/DL recruits? No. Howard proved his worth as a coach, and he isn't really charged with getting the big-time defensive line recruits. And Palcic just got here, so why would he be on the hot seat?

Where do we stand with hoops recruits Gaddy and Avery Bradley?UCLA is actively recruiting both of them, and my sources say the Bruins feel like they have a shot for them.

Is Cliff Harris a possibility now that we've lost 2 DB recruits?Yes, but I'm not sure to what extent.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
