Lovin' LA

Stan Love is a former Laker, but he wouldn't mind at all if Kevin Love was selected by the Clippers in the NBA draft. He believes Love would be a good fit for the Clippers.
``If the Clippers have the pick, I don't think they'd let Kevin go no matter what position and whatever their needs are,'' Stan Love said. ``I think they'd try to keep Kevin in town since he played (college) in town. He'd be a natural.''

What position is he expected to play in the pros?

Elton Brand has the PF spot locked up and the Clips have too money invested in Chris Kaman to sit him on the bench.

How's THIS for a recruiting tool....

"Come to UCLA and get drafted by the PERFECT team for you".

Farmar, Afflalo, Love-?.

was stan on some kind of bender when you got him on the cellie? "the clips will take kevin no matter what their needs are..."

(whys that, stan?)

"cuz he went to school in LA!"

(so did russell westbrook and oj payoff....whats your point?)

"ummmm..yeah. well, people will come to see kevin play!"

(really? kevin is probably a reserve as a pro, maybe he's the next mehmet okur. do fans in a laker town pay clipper ticket prices and staples parking and food prices to see subs or mehmet okur?)

jill, does stan realize that college is one thing but the nba is another?

Stan Love is getting dangerously close to being the next Dina Lohan or Lynne Spears. Maybe he should chill out on the public comments for a while.

I couldn't agree more w/ Bruin Billy! This guy has been getting on my nerves for some time now. I mean, yeah, your kid was talented--at the COLLEGE level. I don't know how that talent is going to translate to the NBA. There is just no modesty or humility w/ the elder Love and he's coming off as an overbearing, delusional parent. I personally just don't think K-Love is going to be the kind of NBA player that fans will pay money to see. Russell Westbrook--now that's a different story!

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
