Love won't participate in Orlando camp
Kevin Love was invited to the Orlando pre-draft camp May 27-30, but he won't participate in it.
``He's not playing ball or participating in it,'' Stan Love said. ``He's just going to get measured and those things. It's a guard kind of thing. It doesn't do anything for Kevin.
``The guards just jack the ball up. It's very difficult when you're at a camp with all the guards trying to impress. As a big guy, they're not throwing you the ball. You're not going to show anything. Private team workouts will be much better for both parties.''

Makes all kinds of sense. I don't know why he's going to any combines at all. He's the most known quantity in the class, and if he's a top10 pick why take ANY chance of getting hurt.
Are the combines mandatory?
Combine's aren't mandatory, just recommended for players who want to improve their draft status. I agree that Love has nothing to prove as an athlete.
I'm assuming he's getting measured and weighed because every college tends to exaggerate the size of their players and they want to make sure he's the actual size listed. The NFL combines do the same thing as well as retake the players 40 times.
Ironically, when they get to the NBA the teams still add a few inches and pounds.
