No. 1 seed UCLA will play No. 1 seed Memphis (37-1) in the NCAA Tournament semifinals. Memphis easily dispatched Texas 85-67 today. The Tigers' only loss this season was to Tennessee.

Oh man...this will be a VERY interesting game. Two completely different styles of play will clash on the national level. I am already nervous.

Does anyone know if UCLA will be wearing home or away jerseys? Just curious.

I thought the overall seeding was:
#1 North Carolina
#2 Kansas
#3 UCLA
#4 Memphis

I would then assume UCLA is in White on Saturday.

If NC or Kansas make it to the National Championship, and UCLA makes it too; UCLA will be in blue.

UCLA will wear blue uniforms against Memphis because the Tigers have a better record.

Memphis reminds me a lot of Florida. (And that's clearly not a good thing...)

It was:

#1 UNC
#2 Memphis
#3 UCLA
#4 Kansas

We'll be in blue.

We'll be in blue because Memphis is the overall higher seed (#2 vs. our #3 as Bob has shown), not because they have a better record.

Anyone know what time the tip will be? Or is it too early for that?

We play the early game, about 6:10 EST; this team is beatable, their loss to Tenn., OT win against USC and near loss at UAB all resulted from bad shooting (good D??) and weak FT shooting. Remember that Memphis has not been to the final 4 either so who knows what their nerves will do. We have some match up issues with Rose and CDR but they have no true center and little experience guarding the post. K-Love early and often, offensive rebounds, transition offense and stingy D are the keys here. Go Bruins.

Memphis looks pretty scary after watching them easily beat two teams UCLA struggled.

I just have the greatest confidence in Howland in getting the players ready for Memphis with a week to prepare.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
