Weis on Davis
During the week UCLA DE Bruce Davis said Notre Dame's offensive line couldn't block a "soul," and the defense did its job by allowing a total of 140 yards. Davis also had three sacks, but ND coach Charlie Weis said his offensive line performed well.
``Number 44 (Davis) helped them out,’’ Weis said. ``You don’t think they noticed when someone says you’re a pile of crap?’’
Comments
Is Charlie Weis so bad at motivating his players he needs other people to do it for him? Can't believe he is admiting the reason his OL hasn't performed well is his inability to motivate them.

I think 3 sacks says Bruce was correct. Fat boy would not be talking at all now if ND was 0-6

"Fat boy would not be talking at all now if ND was 0-6" Duh...the fact is that ND is not 0-6, beating the bruins by 2 touchdowns. And 3 sacks does not make up for a pathetic loss to the NCAA's worst offense. As for motivation...maybe the Bruins should trying using it sometime, it wouldn't hurt!

It would be nice if Bruce Davis opened his big mouth to rip Dorrell. That would get me fired up and might wake Dan Guerrero up too.

Davis shouldn´t write checks that his offense can´t cover. I think Davis should shut up and play football instead of motivating our competition. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

...classless comments. Moronic assumptions. Glad ND soundly trounced your team. You need to learn how to show some class in defeat.

Now now, DAVIS is certainly qualified on recognizing "O" lines that can't block! He's been practicing against one all year long!

Bruce Davis' comments was able to get ND to produce 140 yards of offense? Less than 100 passing yards? Wow! The ND offense really got motivated!
Man, they showed Bruce what men they were! Loved ND's series when they were at 1st and goal and proceeded to march backwards. Nice play calling by Weis.
The only offensive play ND does well is lining up on 4th and goal and having the QB sneak it over.
Yeah, the ND offensive line did well considering they used to minus yards rushing and allowing 5 sacks a game. When those are your standards, anything more in rush yards and less in sacks is a cause for celebration.
I don't know why UCLA fans are attacking Bruce Davis. He leads the strength of the team. How can they be expected to keep ND from scoring when the Irish have 1 or 5 yards to score or the offense turns the ball over 7 times???!!!!

Look, I'm an ND alum and I have to say that we won UGLY. I can't say I'm proud of the team as much as I am just relieved to see them with a "W."
The fact is you guys were playing with your 3rd string QB. How many teams in the country could win with a red-shirt freshman walk-on?
Factor in Davis' trash talking and his flagrant face mask against our most dangerous player (Golden Tate) and you have a pissed off defense.
UCLA has the best D we'll play all year, which is why (along with our futile line) we had no sustained drives and very few yards.
However, I have to say that UCLA looks like they were stunned by the fight ND put up. Talent not withstanding, ND just wanted it more, in my opinion.

I love that the the big comeback to getting beat by an 0 and 5 team is to call the coach fat. Oh, and blaming the red shirt QB is great too. Especially considering that the first two turnovers were with Olsen at the helm. Also, I wanted to thank the classy UCLA fans for assaulting my car when they left the game early. Hell, USC fans don't even do that kind of crap. I have always liked UCLA as a team, but their fans leave a lot to be desired.
