Thursday Countdown: Baldwin Park does its part to set up next week's showdown with San Dimas

Baldwin Park have a great game. You have a good team and a great coach. San Dimas has bad attitude and that makes them look ugly. Same as their coaches. They had that same crappy attitude at Northview. And im sorry but San Dimas did not pull out their 1st string at halftime. They were taken out later. And Northview did accomplish something. They scored on you. And San Dimas did not like that at all. They believed that since they had 3 shut outs and Northview was in last place that they were going to run up the score and leave Northview with a ZERO.
GO BRAVES!!!! YOU DESERVE IT!! GOOD TEAM WITH GOOD ATTITUDE!!!

Great game Northview?? San Dimas didn't accomplish their goal, but Northview didn't accomplish squat!!

Northview had 1 victorious run at their first possesion, then with their predictable plays they were history the rest of the night. San Dimas pulled their first string at half time.

With Baldwin Park at home, it should be a great game.

Well well,well! Yes we knew san dimas would most likely beat northview. BUT northview scored 24pts on them. I guess they did not get to make school history with 4 shut outs in a row. Sorry Fred, but im sure you thought san dimas was going to shut out northview but it did not happen. Great game northview. Now its time for Baldwin Park to beat San Dimas. Yeah it stinks for Duarte that all of those players left after the debacle of last season, but sack up and support them. Fred gave all of us three possibilities for a division champion, I did the math and chose BP even though it is unlikely with Monrovia and Paraclete that they get close. Oh yeah Bonita won 41-3 tonight so playoffs for Bonita. Walnut next week, btw I don't go to bed at night thinking what internet tough guys write on a blog about high school football.

Okay BP has the best shot because of their poor division. Rowland is almost the biggest longshot.... CO,SH,DR, and the OC is why they most likely fail. and Amat is probably the most dangerous team in the pac 5, as long as they stay a pissed off under dog with something to prove they have a legit shot..... but the day they think Amat is back to former glory and that they and their ish dont stink they will lose. so I think Amat is the biggest long shot. and hey id love to see em do it. Maybe if you do some research you will find that there is only one player from Baldwin Park that is eligible to play this season and that Wardell Crutchfield jr. If those players from Duarte were on the roster BP would be even better.

I've seen San Dimas and Baldwin Park play this season, and I figure San Dimas wins by 2 or 3 touchdowns.

Of that quartet, Bishop Amat has the best shot at a CIF title. Primarily because the other three have no shot.

Southeast: Charter Oak
Mid-Valley: Monrovia or Paraclete
Central: Rancho Cucamonga or Upland
Pac-5: Edison, Lakewood or Servite

The only reason BALDWIN PARK has got were it's at, is because HALF the team from Duarte is playing their. You know it and everybody else knows it. Coach Crouch, destroyed the DUARTE PROGRAM. Duarte now is like some whipping boy and everbody is THUMPING on them. SAD DAY'S IN DUARTE...

BP you wouldn't be were you at, if it wasn't for DUARTE, BOTTOM LINE! WHY didn't the C.I.F investigate this program.

Word is that Josh Thompson a 6-3, 170 sophomore WR with speed and great hands (also a very good basketball player) has enrolled at Damien.

This kid is the real deal.

The bottom line is this...to many people are hating on South Hills...they've played well this season..to be truthful..there's no one out there at this point that can stop them from gettting the CIF Title except themselves...look to see South Hills competing for the CIF Southeast Title this year...Go Huskies!

aaron dont worry about freds picks.you have to stick to your owe picks.dont like kool aid.was more of a tang guy.i dont drink any more,the season of football this year was kind of dead for me and son k.c. getting hurt sucks, when you lose you lose as a team. but if your hurt its kinda different i think,because if your out there and lose, your part of it. if your hurt on the side lines theres nothing you can do at all.so friday night the saeson starts all over for the huths,if it wasnt for the drums last week in the band.you could of heard a pen drop.dont get me started man when i was on the field playing i loved the roar of the crowd.am going to be over by the drums i might even bring one myself. but they i would embrasses my son,i could give a rats as about you guys.i would say am going to let my hair down but theres not alot left up top.am going to have some fun, i got a feeling.

However as far as my pick was concerned I looked at what was most plausible from the four possibilities and Baldwin Park has the easiest chance of doing it in the four options that Fred provided. How is BP mismanaged offensively? They are scoring over 30 points/week. You might not like their system but they are scoring so I think you need to check yourself.

If you really want to see mismanaged teams...look at Northview. Arellanes is doing a piss poor job over there. They have PLENTY of talent and losing to Ganesha...come on.

Good question...if Baldwin Park beats SD next week, its going to come down to the victory margin because not a sole from the CIF offices go to these games. So there is no way to add-in or subtract those intangibles.

I've seen a lot of BP but nothing on Dimas...the Braves have the talent, that's for sure. They're just mis-managed....especially on offense....but they're winning.

I'd like to hope there's gonna be a fair and solid top 5 heading into playoffs. Just two more weeks to find out if that becomes a reality.

Baldwin park- because they play in a crappy playoff group. the mid valley suck a big 8========)---- dont get me wrong baldwiin park also sucks.

i love to use Amat as a comparison ...the lancer players bought in completely from day one...damien didn't have that luxury.

I said early on that damien that would go undefeated in league (and yes everyone laughed...lol) and they should have...and no one would argue that the team they smoked (GHS) would beat the team that smoked them(CHHS). chino hills should have never happened and to a man maybe the team decided right there they weren't on the same page with the coaches (a tough fact everyone tried to deny)...and that speaks directly to the team's captains who should have done a better job this year leading by example rather than coming in with senioritis...not all but enough...is all I'm saying. (also tough to deny if you seen any practices)

the good thing for damien is they have had outstanding coaching and out of this world mentoring form day one...I've said this before...gano is a perfect fit for damien bu what I didn't know is how caring and professional his assistants were...never seen a staff as united in their mission as i've seen this staff...talk about PATIENCE!!!! those men deserve a medal for how they've handled this group

funny how the dr comparison is being made by fred. last year when dr lost to bonita i thought...NO WAY!!!! but that was a turning point for the team and the coaches because bonita was really no match for dr last year...and yet they lost for reasons they need to accept rather than deny...and maybe damien has had that message brought to them as well...are they contenders or pretenders...tough looking in the mirror after than one.

damien will one day realize why everyone plays them tough and comes so prepared and willing to beat them...figure that out and damien will start mkaing some real noise....heck just look at what happened in basketball once every player realized tehy were as talented as I've always said they were...yes damien should have been CIF Champs last year...anyone disagree?

I've seen both SD and BP. In my opinion BP is a better team, and will win the VVL championship. They had an off night against us, as we did against SD. BP kids are too tough for the little Saints.

Honestly it would be nice to see BA go 10-0 and then get to the second round of the PAC-5 playoffs which is when toss-ups begin because the teams that make it there will be playing solid football. It would be extremely awesome to see BA run the table, but I voted for Baldwin Park.

Should BP beat SD, would Azusa be ranked second? or BP ranked second? Im interested to know..

That's such a tough question, the parity that Bishop Amat and Damien face means they will have a tough game from the first round on...they can probably beat anyone, but can they do it four times in a row, man? I can't see how Rowland beats Charter Oak, South Hills, West Covina, and even some other contenders, that's a real long shot. But Baldwin Park, that roads easy. They have the best chance of advancing a couple rounds, and nobody in that division is unbeatable. I say B.P.
