Breaking News: Canada to South Hills?

The best evidence yet that standout running back Jordan Canada has transferred from Duarte to South Hills was found on Scout.Com, which actually profiles Canada as a South Hills player for the 2009 season. I heard this move was taking place last week, but couldn't find anyone willing to confirm it. If he becomes eligible, this makes South Hills an absolute contender for the Southeast title along with Charter Oak. Now can the Huskies talk Jacob Shirley into playing quarterback his senior year. Stay tuned, I'll track this down on Monday. Canada rushed for 1,956 yards and 19 touchdowns, averaging 195 yards a game after missing three games because of injuries as a junior.

Who's Crying?..... I think its a joke. SH is getting the biggest gift of them all. My emotions aren't running as deep as yours.

Dude theres a gang of communties that have kids at Amat. and what about the Pasadena ballers that leave from there city to other schools. Dude stop crying alredy!!

observant cat:

I personally was handed amat literature concerning my nephew when he was a Hawk, but it was more than amat there. amat spoke of scholarships and how we could get them but recruiting was and always has been huge at hawks games. Amat recruited a hs all american from duarte in the late 80's, wide reciever first name was jeremy. If people actually realized how many athletes come from Monrovia and Duarte to the different sgv schools over the years I think they would be stunned. Most if not all those complaining have benefited from our area at one time or another.

Dorian wells played his first three years at Amat. Just saw his freshman picture in an Amat yearbook. His senior year at South Hills. Just say you are wrong.

What Amat coaches were they? Be specific

Your right Fred,
I just assumed they would take the hardship route, how else could they play, unless they actually move into the S.Hills area?

To Facts straight?

Dorian played as a freshman at Monrovia high School, He couldn't return after leaving Bishop Amat so he went to South Hills to finish out his Football career. FACT! (try using another lifeline next time)

Reality Bites: (take a bite out of this)
There were several Amat staff at some of the Duarte Hawkes games when this kid Thropay took them to a championship with all of the players on that team several are now playing for Schools like Charter oaks, South Hills, Monrovia, Duarte. Believe me recruiting is becoming like College, get em while their young. I spoke with some of the parents of these kids and it doesn't amaze me that they are being sought after like that.

observantcat,
It is the fact that Thropay had to win the starting job and not have it handed to him is why he left AMAT. Lenhart lost the job that you say was promised to him so he could finish out his senior year. Maybe if Thropay had stayed and worked hard he might have gotten the nod over McClanahan but his parents who are the ones making these decisions chose to go for the sure thing which was the starting job at CO for this season as you say in your post . Look it up on the archived blogs and see the story where his parents had conversations with coach Lou and he sent them on to the administration probably after promising them the starting job for the 09 season seeing as he already had Chris Allen and Thropay would not be eligible for the 08 season.

Observantcat

Dude, lay off the beer. Your boy hasn't played in a competitive league or schedule.

Not going to be the same!

Dorian Wells was never enrolled at Monrovia.

Thropay was not promised a thing. He had to compete. Was recruited to Charter Oak. Was found out by CIF and forced to play on JV and could not suit out for varsity games.

I hope more people are sleeping on the Lancers.

WELL IT REALLY DONT MATTER IF CANADA ENDS UP@ S.HILLS THE BOTTOM LINE IS SOUTH HILLS STILL IS SOFT AND PLAY IN A WEAK LEAGUE. IM CERTIAN THEY WONT EVEN GET TO A DIV CHAMPIONSHIP THIS UPCOMING YEAR THOSE S.HILLS CHAMPION DAYS ARE OVER BOGAN HAS BETTER CHANCES COACHING IN A POP WARNER LEAGUE NO OFFENSE TO THE COACHING STAFF BUT THEIR PLAYERS ARE NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE BACK IN THE EARLY 2000;S OR JUST MAYBE COACH SMITH SHOULD TAKE OVER BOGANS JOB. I HEAR HE DOES SOME GREAT RECRUITING FOR HIS BASEBALL TEAM HA,HA,

Its not just Crutch its also the situation at Duarte with all the ongoing violence on and around campus.

To TopDogCrowned & Just Sayin:

As for you top dog, I remember Thunder & lightning and I remember their rushing stats. Thunder (Fred Glaster) had 182 yrds on 43 Carries rushing his senior year and lighting (Marquise Winbush) had 1892 yrds on 277 carries. i am willing to be that a healthy Jordan Canada will have more yardage combined with even less carries. So as for my facts only time will tell. Now getting over to just sayin, Josiah Thropay will lead Charter Oaks to another League Championship and Have the Most passing Yrds in the league this year if allowed to play every game unijured. He Was sought out by Bishop Amat when he was in the 8th grade. You know the old recruiting story, Greed.....Look at SC and all of the great incoming QB's they get every year and usually only 1 maybe 2 get a chance to shine and play on Saturdays. Josiah Thropay should have been BA's Premier QB but when you promise someone else that they will finish out their senior year that changes the game. I would love to See a Bishop Amat/Charter Oak Game this year. I would not even be close. Oh and by the Way Dorian Well's left Monrovia to play for Amat as a wide receiver and DB and landed his Senior year as one of South Hills best running Backs and he carried the ball just 190 times for 1479 yards and 19 td's, Like I said Canada is by far going to be the best of this bunch, not to take anything away from any of them I just know a running back when I see one.

observant cat also came on here predicting that Josiah Thropay would make people forget Pat Haden at Amat and set the Pac-5 on fire - when in reality he was 3rd string and couldn't handle the competition - now he will have to battle at CO to start over Santiago. It aint the Rio Hondo League anymore!

Dan, where was it written anywhere that these kids are choosing the "hardship" route?

observant cat
lay off the sauce haha the best rb south hills has ever seen?!?!? i guess you dont remember thunder and lightning. Winbush, and big fred Glaster. Three rings for them.
and not to mention Wells P.O.Y. come on dude think before you type

dan-I agree. would he have had those issues at Amat? hard to say.

How does looseing your coach qualify as being a hardship? I don't see how CIF can let Canada or any of the others be eligible, especially after the Shirley situation.

canada pick south hills because he wouldent start at charter oak or west covina the reason i say these 2 schools because they will be in the top 3 schools next year. south hills has no running game

Just asking,
Yes he does, but there where other issues that prevented his scholie, for his sake I don't want to go into detail, but I hear he is working on it.

Again, sometimes it's not recruiting, it's players wanting to leave for a better situation. In this case, with Crutchfield fired, it seems to me players are leaving in loyalty to Crutchfield, not being recruited.

Fred
I don't know how good this player Canada is or the other kid Shirley for that matter but Fred is this not cheating. I mean come on Fred there not even trying to hide that they are recruiting kids out of the area. Has any one called CIF to have them look into these two players. This is ridiculous.

dan-does Albert Cid have "next level talent"?

To time will tell:

I agree with you on the scheduling, that's not the players fault. Take Charter Oaks for example. Having 5 Monrovia high School Transfers and 1 Monrovia Back who transferred to a Texas school and rushed for over 2500 yards in a much more competitive environment put them back at MHS and I cant think of too many teams in Southern Cal who could have touch that team. But thats how the ball bounces sometimes. Running backs are usually special kind of players who and the great ones can put a team on it's back and take them to the promise land Baby.. Jordan Canada is that Back. And for the record I guarantee you he's better than any back SH's has ever witnessed in their backfield. From a real athlete who really knows the game this kid is the real deal Very disciplined and very athletic.

Canada>Wells

Believe That.

If the kid has next level
talent, then he'll be fine at S. Hills, it doesn't have to be Amat or a D1 school.

Will he be able to play? Both schools know what is up. Someone needs to stop SH and all of their power that they get from random places. Fight on Duarte!

Doesnt matter what school he's going to. He averages out with Chris Harris, who went D-1, Muema and the kid from Monrovia last year. I saw Muema his whole life and I dont even believe he was the top one out of the group. Golden from CO is right there too. He's built like a Barry Sanders if he is or he isnt the best on SH I think what people are saying is he's a special player who could start anywhere. He's not high school good, he's high school special with definite D-1 potential.

Observantcat

Big differnece playing SH schedule compared to Monrovia. We'll see how good he is next year.

SGV pride,

You are correct, but none of the RBs that played in that game ended the season as RBs... The leading rusher for the huskies only played 4.5 games, and in the loss to DR he had 5 carries the whole game, so you could say 3.5 games... Something went terribly wrong that game, when you have a player come off a 200 total yard game performance the previous game, and then only get 17 total yards the next with a reception and 5 carries... This kid is going to help, but you'd be crazy to say he's going to come to SH and be the best when you have 4 returning WR's which are probably the best in the SGV as a group... 2 of them may be #1 and #2 in the SGV at that position, as well as an excellent RB...

Good to see the CIF-SS doesn't have a double or triple standard on the (non)athletically induced transfers.

Yeah, right.

Quite clearly these kids are going out of there way to find the very best football opportunities once the fave coach is out. I just wish that the CIF-SS powers that be would drop the pretense and let the players move around as they like without pulling a “Shirley” every couple years on some poor kid.

This kid should have gone to Amat D1. If want to be the best you have to play against the Best. SH and the San Antonio, your avg. second string back can get yards against Walnut and Nogales. He will shine at SH. What is his height and weight? Does he have next level potential? Does he do well in the classroom.? Does SH have a line to get him to that next level come CIF time.??

Canada had more yards rushing against Ayala in a quarter and a half than South Hills whole team did the entire game. So I dont think anybody from a larger school could have done it just because there from one of the prestigious schools. Alot of the prestigious schools are built on Duarte and monrovia players and he is one of the best. With a line he is going to be awesome.

To all of the SH's bloggers......If you think that Dorian Wells made a difference when he was in your backfield, then you'll be twice as impressed with Jordan Canada, very fluid running style very focused and very elusive. I am going with Ex-Falcon and others on this one He's probably the Best running back in the Entire area and with a good line I think he could be unstoppable. You have to remember, just because your'e in a weak league doesn't mean that the individual players are week. He would hands down Be a starter at BA, Damien, Diamond Ranch, Charter Oaks, Etc......Monrovia and Duarte has been a treasure trove of talented running backs and I place Jordan Canada near the top of the pile. I just wished that he returned back to Monrovia where his career began. Ps. I remember reading some blogs a few years ago doubting Dorian Wells go to south hills to play running back, but I see it payed big dividends for you team. This Kid Canada is probably better.

This kid will be an excellent addition to Umodu, Bevel, and vaughns, but dubbing him the best athlete is retarded, vaughns was an electric punt returner. Good luck dawgs bring it back home!

Frank, just be cool, don't bring it up and everything is fine. I'm doing my best to keep this under control the last few weeks, that's why sometimes I will allow the comments to run freely, but when people start getting carried away again, I shut it down. To fluffer/curious, if you're serious about letting bygones be bygones, I'm cool with that, it's up to you.

Danny C.
"Weak A_ _ San Antonio"?
So what league do you follow?
Unless its the Serra, if its from the SGV it won't be much stronger than the San Antonio.

Hey Fred maybe I'm reading too much into this but usually when the recents attacks come at me ...and you start to delete them is that when you start getting harassed?

Seems like it don't you think.

How many FC sucks, or worse, comments have you had to delete?

Just for fun send me one of the "worst ones"...just to get a bearing or a sense of what I'm...I mean "you" ...or I should "say"...we're dealing with here/

If it wasn't so real and scary...it might be funny...but it's not is it?

I'd email thsi to you but sense you're on delete protrol...it about the same thing. Sorry it's come back on you.

The End.

Duarte, Montview League... I'm pretty positive any RB at S.H. could've done the same thing he did... He's obviously skilled cuz he did what he did... SH has many skilled players, I don't think we could say he's going to be the most skilled cuz he has yet to play against a good team... The Montview League isn't at all competitive... I'm sure he'll help though...

No more hiding. Email is sent. Let's end this episode.

Fred, I invite your response. Can we put this in the past and move forward? I'm willing to go away. Just let me know.

Fred;

What happened to the Track &Field stories. APU had a good meet yesterday.

Also how about some latest baseball scores, especially the Montview league.

Thanks Fred.

I hope you did email Curious, my boss would love to hear from you.

Thanks, there is this person using every bad word you can think of, attacking other commenters viciously, then turns around and complains to me that I'm not doing enough to stop others. Go figure.

More trouble Fred. Well at least you are trying to keep it positive.

Stay positive.

To fluffer, AKA, curious, when you email me what entry and date you're talking about, then I will consider deleting it. But I know you won't, because you're a 1,000 times worse than the people you're complaining about. Keep on knocking but you can't come in.

??????....sure you were !

Dorian Wells

???,

A big line there skill postiton where adverage at best. if he does go to south hills he will start and make dramatic impact for your team. He will be by far the best skill postion player on your team hands down. dont be mad at me, you lost in the second round.

Do not kid yourself SH is not as good as what you are making them out to be. What a steal to get a talented player, but there is not much there after C.Deen. They also play in a weak a-- league called the San Antonio where beating up on the likes of Nogales and Walnut is not saying much. Tesoro wil romp them you watch and see.

Huh??? Absolute contenders... The huskies were absolute contenders before Canada arrived... He can help and add to what they have, but the huskies were already headed to compete for another league title... If all goes well a CIF title as well...

Duarte, has it come down to this. Not one reply to this story, and where are all you BIG talking duarte fans at?

The DUROC has cracked! Have you given up on your football program?

AZUSA 2008 MONTVIEW LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!
