Ill-fitted suits

My new favorite minor-league baseball team, the Altoona Curve. This time, they're comin' with a real Uncle Charlie.

According to the team's website , the Eastern League Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates is holding a "Salute to Frivolous Lawsuit Night" on July 2.
There's a pink tote bag to the first 137 men in attendance ages 18 and over. The first 137 women 18 and over will receive lukewarm coffee so they will not burn themselves. The first 137 kids will be given a beach ball with a warning not to ingest it. And they're selling Angels merchandise.
“We realize that these giveaways as part of our Salute to Frivolous Lawsuit Night are fairly stupid and serve no real purpose, said Curve GM Todd Parnell. “But if our fans don’t like them, then they can sue us!
Even better, team president Chuck Greenberg is a corporate and sports attorney.
It's the kind of promotion the late maverick owner Bill Veeck, and his son Mike , who helps run five minor-league teams at the moment, could have and do appreciate.
"I love it," Mike Veeck emailed us when we asked him about the promotion. "I am so jealous that we didn't think of it. Todd Parnell is a genius. He's always been good at his job."
The Angels' reaction to having someone in their corner: "They have long been considered one of the more innovative organizations in Minor League Baseball and this promotion simply reinforces that reputation," said team spokesman Tim Mead.
