The Wall Street Journal is really excited about baseball's new video technology that tracks the speed and trajectory of the ball and, the newspaper said today, starts the sport "down the path of learning how players do things -- which batter hits the ball the hardest, which shortstop has the quickest reflexes, what pitcher has the nastiest slider." The WSJ makes the leap to claiming that this source of new information will render the traditional baseball box score obsolete. I'm not sure what one thing has to do with the other, but make up your own mind by clicking here to read the article.
