HS FOOT: Golden League is WAY down this season

| | Comments (1) |

Before the season, I remember joking with Palmdale coach Jeff Williams that no less than six of the league's eight teams were well capable of finishing in last place.

Maybe it was not such a joke. The league may never again be among the Southland's strongest leagues like it was back back in the 1980s and early 1990s, but this year most Golden League teams are "rebuilding," to put it nicely.

Consider this: Heading into Week Three, the league has a combined record of 3-14, and every team has lost at least once.
