Boys Basketball: Campbell Hall hires Steve Wachs

| | Comments (0) |

What a difference 24 hours can make.

After being told he didn't have enough high school experience on Thursday, Steve Wachs was offered the Campbell Hall of North Hollywood boys basketball position and has accpeted according to athletic director Juan Velasquez.

Speculation arose that Derrick Taylor of Taft would be the new coach and Taylor said he was offered the job but declined when he and the school could not come to agreement on some issues.

Velasquez said no one was offered the job formally but discussions were held with all three candidates.

Wachs has been an assistant at Loyola Marymount, Cal Poly Pomona and coached at Brentwood of Los Angeles last season.

"No one was offered the job," Velasquez said. "We made a decision this morning. Things changed and we offered the job to Steve."
