Today and tomorrow are busy days in local wrestling with the City Section teams starting in the playoffs and the Southern Section teams going to one of six regional tournaments.

For the City teams, El Camino Real, Chatsworth, Sylmar and Reseda will be a few of the teams wrestling at Reseda High and Birmingham, San Fernando, Granada Hills are competing with Bell at Granada Hills. Both of those tournaments start again in the early morning between 9 and 10am Saturday.

For the Southern Section, Quartz Hill will be going to Los Osos for the Inland Sectional, while all of the Marmonte League teams - including Royal, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Agoura, Calabasas, Westlake, Moorpark and Newbury Park - are going to Chapparal High School in Temecula for the Southern Sectional. The Mission League teams - which include Alemany, Chaminade, Crespi, Brentwood and Harvard-Westlake - will be sending wrestlers to Whittier High in Whittier for the Coastal Sectional.

Of all of those sectionals, only one has determined and printed the seeds for their tournament, and its the Whitter one. The following local guys are seeded at the Whitter sectional

Gary Espinosa (2), Anthony Espinosa (2), Diego Rabbanal (5), Sergio Figueroa (5), Steven Flores (7) and Akeem Gonzales (5) are all seeded for Alemany while Craig Seidenglanz is #3 for Chaminade and Ben Kogan (5), Spencer Friedman (4), Evan Ryan (6) are seeded for Harvard-Westlake.
