Another Stoneridge Player To Division I
Stoneridge School (Simi Valley, CA) announced today that Moussa Camara signed a National Letter of Intent this week to attend Binghamton University and play basketball in the America East Conference for the 2007-2008 academic year. Camara becomes one of Coach Broadus’ first recruits since being named new head coach earlier this month.
“Camara should thrive in the successful Georgetown-style system that Coach Broadus will be implementing at Binghamton,” Mike Mahoney, executive director for Stoneridge said. “Moussa’s ability to shoot the basketball will be a big plus for their program. He is also an excellent defensive player that will compete at the defensive end,” Mahoney went on to say.
“I really enjoyed visiting the campus, meeting the players and the academic administration on my visit last week at Binghamton,” Camara said. “Binghamton is a good fit for me. Coach Broadus’ success at Georgetown was a key reason for my decision,” Camara went on to say.
Camara flew under the radar screen this year, competing for time on a talented Stoneridge team that includes 9 Division 1 signees. The Paris, France native is an outstanding shooter that can extend defenses. He is also a versatile player that can play multiple positions on the floor. Prior to attending Stoneridge, he played at The Rock School in Gainesville, FL, where he made 1st Team All-State for Division I-A.
