Pasadena Marathon rescheduled for March 22

| | Comments (6) |

Just received via email:

We are thrilled to announce the new date of the of the Pasadena Marathon--March 22, 2009! We hope you agree that this date occupies a prime spot on the nation's race calendar, and that you'll do us the honor of participating!

We anticipate that we will be able to open online registration through our website next week. All persons wishing to participate must register online. Those who were registered for the November 16 event will be able to sign up for the new date at a significant discount. We'll send out another announcement when registration is up and running.

Please feel free to pass this on to your friends in the running, walking, cycling community, and encourage them to sign up for our e-Newsletter at www.pasadenamarathon.org.

I like the part about deep discounts for people who already paid for the canceled marathon.

No way I'm paying again to run. Pasadena Forward proved to be irresponsible in not buying event cancellation insurance and they want us to throw more money their way? Sorry, in hard times like this, I can't afford to pay again. Pasadena Forward, think of us poor folks for a second and stop worrying about your profit margin. We paid for a race and it's wrong to charge us again.

If you are signing up for the first time to run on March 22nd, you pay $86 to run the marathon but if you are a returning participant from the cancelled event, you'll end up paying $86 plus the "discounted" fee of $43. I'm not paying $129 to run the same event.

March 22 works for me. Your November event was a no go because I run LB in October and the CIM up in Sac the ist sunday in December. I know you guys need the money, but in the name of intergalactic peace you really should sign up those folks from the November schedule who in good faith had already paid up front. See you 3/22/09.
