Nine candidates in nine minutes
All nine candidates for the Pasadena City Council's first and second districts agreed to be Guinea pigs for a Star-News video experiment this past Thursday.

Look under the "Online Extra" box at the right side of the page -- but understand these links are not for the bandwidth-challenged. Until we've secured our position as Masters of the Multimediaverse, I'd recommend viewing the videos during off-peak hours. So set an alarm clock for 3 a.m. and say a prayer to the gods of server-side content streaming.
District 1 candidates Raphael Henderson, Mark Leon, Michelle Richardson-Bailey, Jacque Robinson, Robin Salzer and Gordon Treweek were asked how they would use their position on the council to mitigate violence in the northwest, which was back in a big way in the first week of February.
They had one minute to respond to the question. The idea was to provoke a succinct response on a serious issue and provide voters a chance to get a sense of these six individuals.
For District 2, Stacy Lewis, Jim Lomako and Margaret McAustin give a sense of how they would handle growth.
