Dodgers, Phillies clear benches

| | Comments (0) |

You knew it was only a matter of time before this happened. Hiroki Kuroda threw a pitch high at Shane Victorino, who ducked. Victorino yelled at Kuroda, then Russell Martin stood in front of Victorino and they exchanged words. Victorino yelled toward the Dodgers dugout, and some of the Dodgers returned a hand gesture. It escalated and both benches cleared. Manny Ramirez was in the thick of things and lost his skull cap in the fracas. Joe Torre had Ramirez in a bear hug. No punches were thrown. Even former Dodgers player Dave Lopes exchanged heated words with Dodgers first base coach Mariano Duncan and third base coach Larry Bowa. In Game 2, Brett Myers threw a pitch behind Manny Ramirez and brushed back Russell Martin, which the Dodgers weren't happy about. Once things settled down, Martin grounded into a double play, then slammed his helmet, bat and flung himself around in the Dodgers dugout.
