Wilson Cruz on being an out actor in Hollywood...and smoking something...

The USC event I participated in this afternoon was a terrific discussion with a lot of people who I respect and admire, Had I known they were gonna post YouTube clips of it, I wouldn't have been scribbling notes the entire time!
Here are some clips of Wilson Cruz, a very talented aftor who came out more than a decade ago when he co-starred with Clare Danes in "My So-Called Life." If only all stars could be this well-adjusted and thoughtful:

My favorite quote from that was when he was asked what advice he'd give to other performers who are considering coming out: "I tell them to make sure they're doing it for themselves - for very personal reasons. You can't do it because you want to be a hero to other people."
