No wonder Norstrom retired...he knew this was coming.

Great. Now we'll have to deal with him waving his arms in front of the Kings goalie (whoever that is) every other night since he's now in the Kings division.

Well, at least he didn't sign with the Kings....or the Quackers.

Paul said:

And how that guy is worth $3.9M a year is beyond me.

Daniel said:

I expect Gautier to play all eight games vs Dallas.

Well, that's why you get Gauthier and Greene. One takes the left arm, the other takes the right arm, and pull tab to open.

Seriously though, should be fun.

Thats a boatload of $ for Avery...

Pretty much EVERY signing has been way overload in terms of years/$

Avery and Ott on the same team? Could make for some ineresting games vs Dallas. Can't wait for Teubert to make the NHL and smack Avery around a little.

I just want the video of them duking it out in practice a la Emery/McGratton.

BOOO! He had to go to a division rival!

Mark said:

So if I show up when LA plays DAL in my Avery King's Jersey does that make me a hypocrite?

Pat McGroyn said:

Perfect. Now that his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend has been traded to the Kings, Avery comes back to the Pacific Division and gets to square off against Jarrett Stoll eight times a season. I smell a Versus Network reality show!!!

Ha, ha... suckers!!

I can't wait to see Brown or JMFJ execute an open ice hit on his annoying rear-end or to hear the Staples crowd chant anti-Avery remarks when he flops, dives or acts like the total toe he is. Thanks you Dallas.

Mark,

We'll find out together.

isn't the league suppose to switch to only 6 divisional games per team this coming season?

WOW.

I know Avery's not a favorite among many for good reason.

But I like the dude and am glad he's going to Dallas (my personal #2 team).

Gonna be interesting this year indeed.

This will be interesting! When I go to the games I sit about 4 rows from the very top of the AAC. These are known as the cheap seats. There were a lot of very vocal anti-Avery fans to say the least when he was on the Kings. More than I thought possible at the time. I wonder if this same group is going to be welcoming to Mr. Vogue intern?

I'd take Avery on my team anytime. The Kings were better with him and he was still young, the Rangers were better with him and made the playoffs two years in a row and were 17 games above .500 with him in the lineup and Dallas will be an even bigger playoff beast with him. Say what you want and whine all you want about the guy, but he came to play and he came to win and did the things that some wouldn't do. Poor Marty got frustrated with the arm waving by Avery though he never touched him and the league came to his rescue by installing the "Avery Rule". What a frigging joke. As far as Avery backing down from a fight, I didn't see ever turn his back and run but I have seen him get suckered from behind and doubled up on as the Penguins did after Fleury speared him.
