Simi Hills Golf Course to Participate in Second Annual Patriot Golf
Day Aug. 29 - Sept. 1
Donations will support the families of military service members who
have been disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty

Simi Valley - Simi Hills Golf Course will participate in the
second annual Patriot Golf Day, a joint initiative of The PGA of
America and the United States Golf Association. Golfers across the
country and at Simi Hills Golf Course have the unique opportunity to
donate to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation (FoldsofHonor.org),
which provides educational scholarships to families of those who have
become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty. Simi Hills
will request an additional donation for each green fee that is
processed August 29 through September 1.

"This is a great way for the golf industry to help the families of
those who have given their lives in defense of freedom," said Brian
Reed, Head Golf Professional and Manager of Simi Hills Golf Course,
who is a PGA Golf Professional and member of the USGA. "This is a
wonderful opportunity for golfers in our community to give back to
those who have given everything" said Reed, who also serves as Chief
Petty Officer in the Navy Reserves assigned to Naval Beach Group ONE
in Coronado, California. Reed has served twice in a combat zone.
"This charity event is particularly meaningful and important to me."

Major Dan Rooney, a PGA Professional and USGA member from Broken
Arrow, Okla., inspired Patriot Golf Day. Major Rooney will once
again lead Patriot Golf Day in 2008 before he reports for his third
tour of duty in Iraq as an F-16 pilot in the 125th Fighter Squadron
of the Oklahoma Air National Guard immediately following Patriot Golf
Day.

The inaugural Patriot Golf Day held last year on September 1 resulted
in donations of more than $1.1 million dollars to support the
families of military service members who have been disabled or lost
their lives injured or perished in the line of duty. Contributions
were received from more than 3,200 golf facilities and approximately
200 scholarships have already been awarded due to the efforts of PGA
Professionals nationwide hosting 2007 Patriot Golf Day.
