USGA announces partnership with RBS
The USGA today announced a new four-year agreement with the Royal Bank of Scotland. Here's more info from today's morning conference call with Jack Nicklaus, USGA officials and RBS officials.
The four year agreement features a number of components that will be integrated among all USGA championships, including the US Open, along with the development of new media platforms and contributions to the USGA's 'For the Good of the Game' initiative. RBS becomes just the fourth corporate sponsor in the 114 year history of the USGA, joining Lexus, American Express, and IBM in partnering on programs that serve to benefit golfers at every level of the game while also introducing the sport to new audiences. The USGA views RBS as a perfect partner, in large part because it has been involved with golf for more than a century through its association with the Open Championship in Britain. The RBS Group has strengthened its links with the U.K. and European golf this decade by becoming the official bank of the PGA European Tour.
