Colletti, Boras talk by phone

That's it. They just talked. Nothing new came out of it. Not sure whether they're going to talk again later today or not. ... Dodgers are getting killed by the Mariners. Shawn Estes, who is allegedly a candidate for the fifth spot in the rotation, gave up seven runs (five earned) on six hits in 1 1/3 innings. But the whole team looks bad. Couple of errors, a baserunning mistake by Matt Kemp, the obligatory popped-up bunt by Juan Pierre. You get the picture. Mariners leading 8-0, middle 5.

Tony, do you think the Manny mess is starting to take it's toll on the team? Obviously today might be just a rough outing but given the timing and the black cloud hanging over the organization you can't help but wonder..

Have you seen or heard anything that might lead you to believe the team/players/coaches are as frustrated as we are?

If McCourt doesn't get this deal done he has royally screwed this season up. This will sit bad with the team the whole season. Furcal & Torre have said as much it will. Without Manny Dodgers are no better than a .500 team.

And people who know me wonder why I never like Juan Pierre as a player and can't tolerate him in the lineup anymore. His ABs are too predictable...

...then a tourettes-like outburst was heard something to the effect of "My hands are tied by that miser's pursestrings!"...then he ran into the men's room.

What person who knows anything about baseball would question you not liking Juan Pierre as a player? Slap-hitting base stealers who don't get on base, can't advance runners and hit the ball in the air 70 percent of the time are next to worthless -- which is not to say the Dodgers didn't increate his personal net worth by far too many millions of dollars.
