Two-for-one La Mirada budget deliberations

| | Comments (1) |

La Mirada's budget problems are about to hit home in meetings that both will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. You might even be able to watch the action both just by walking a few feet from the council chambers to the City Hall conference room.

During the regular council meeting, public hearings will be held on raising building fees by about 33 percent. A second hearing will be on raising the rates for Splash! as a way to reduce the subsidy by about 25 percent. We'll have a story on these two hearings in Tuesday's newspaper or on this newspaper's general Web site if you rely on the Internet for your news.
At the same time, the La Mirada Athletic Council, which consists of many youth athletic organizations, will be discussing a proposal for an athletic field usage fee of $10 per La Mirada resident child and $15 per non-resident. This group meets in the City Hall conference room. Both of these proposals are at least in some ways related to the city's need to save about $4 million to ensure that this year's and next year's budgets are balanced.

Exploring stumbleupon.com I seen your web site book-marked Now I am assuming you book-marked it yourself and wanted to request if social book-marking will get you a bunch of visitors? I have been looking at carrying out some book-marking for just a few of my websites but was not certain if it will produce any beneficial success. Appreciate it.
