Blogging offline with Drivel and Blokkal
I've heard about Drivel, the GNOME blogging client that enables users of Linux to write blog posts offline for LiveJournal, Blogger, MovableType, Advogato, Atom, WordPress and Drupal blogs.
I haven't used it yet -- and I was hoping to find something that would work with OpenBSD and not carry the weight of GNOME along with it -- but I will.

My Debian Lenny system has a whole lot of KDE on it already, so I can probably add both of these.

New ways to sign in to comment: I just added the ability for prospective commenters on this blog to sign in using their AOL, Yahoo! and Wordpress.com accounts (for the past 200 posts anyway ... more than that will take an extensive, middle-of-the-night rebuild). You might also want to look at BloGTK, which should allow you to work offline, just not as well as Drivel. I like the way the interface is set up, very clean and with all the formating tools you are likely to use. I found this under the About tab "Code licensed under the terms of the BSD license", so hopefully this will work on OpenBSD. This seems pretty light weight, but I don't know for sure. I came across it while doing a search for "blog" in Synaptic on my Linux Mint 5.0 installation
I don't think any of these offline blog clients are in the OpenBSD ports.
On my OpenBSD laptop, I do have Linux compatibility installed and turned on, but I'm nowhere near figuring out how to install a Linux application that doesn't start as an OpenBSD port.
And I need to start from scratch anyway with this laptop -- my /usr partition is completely full. I would probably need to delete a few apps in order to upgrade the installation from OpenBSD 4.2 to 4.3.
I'm happy to try these blogging clients in Linux (Debian or Ubuntu at this juncture). I've just been having an "OpenBSD week."
