In what can be considered a great upset, La Mirada High School's Cameron Gillett just clinched the boys long jump title at the CIF-State Track and Field Championships at Cerritos College in Norwalk.

Gillett won the title with a season-best mark of 24 feet, 1 3/4 inches. The senior entered in a field that included the top two national leaders.

Congratulations and kudos to Cameron.

Whittier's Luis Dorantes also finished off his prep career in style.

The Cardinals senior finished sixth in the boys 3,200-meter run with an incredible mark of 9 minutes, 7.04 seconds.

Congratulations and kudos to Luis

Wow-
what another wonderful blog on this wonderful web site. One comment tells you all you have to know about this horrible newspaper and those who make decisions for it. You have a bunch of bald headed morons making decisions to only cover your favorite school or coach. What a disgrace. This paper will soon rot in hell.
