Free make up today

mineral-makeup-2.jpgAs part of a cosmetics settlement, you can get free make up today at a number of stores, including Macys, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom. A Web site has info about the lawsuit that is resulting in the massive giveaway.

Seem suspicious? I thought that too, until I found this story from The Boston Channel about the $175 million make up settlement. Each person who qualifies can ask for one item between $18 and $25 free.

"To qualify for the giveaway, a person must live in the United States and have purchased a cosmetic on the settlement list made or sold by the defendants between May 29, 1994, and July 16, 2003. Some of the retailers among the defendants include Foley's, Dillard's, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, and Neiman Marcus. Manufacturers include Clinique, Estee Lauder, Chanel, M.A.C., and L'Oreal."

Browse the list of free products available while supplies list here. Thanks Tina and Lynn!

OMG! I thought this was a too good to be true offer last time I read about it. So glad to hear it is real! Since you made my day I have given you the Lemonade Award. Find out what to do here: http://frugalgossip.com/wordpress/2009/01/20/omg-my-first-award/

did you see the size of the products they are sample size mabey a little bigger they sre not retail size because the sizes listed are not sold so they are giving away but they are small and you must sing a paper kinda like a release form so it might not be worth it

I stood in line for 15 minutes this morning at the northridge Macy's and it was well worth it.I got something for free that I would not of normally bought for myself. It was nice.

I stood in line for 5 minutes this morning... I signed the paper too. It was all pretty easy. But they were just giving out sample sizes. Seems like a cheap way to get people to their stores when the economy is doing poorly. Really, it's just a $15 discount on whatever you end up buying.

Hi, You should really think of another blog name. There is a blog called the bargain babe already. Just my 2 cents. Sad to see you leave the oc register!

Janis,
What is the other blog called Bargain Babe? I have not heard of it. Also, I'm leaving the LA Daily News, not the OC Register. Thanks for your readership.

The line was around the block to get in to Macy's/Fashion Square this morning, and I wondered what in the heck they were giving away. Now I know!
