Office Depot closing sales?
Keep your eyes peeled for a few upcoming store closings in the Office Depot chain, suggests a recent story from the Miami Herald.
Sales at Office Depot stores that have been open at least one year are down 14 percent in North America and the company's stock has dropped almost 90% in the past year, the story says.
"Office Depot also told Wall Street that it intends to conduct a business review during the fourth quarter, which will include looking at everything from closing stores to getting out of unprofitable business units or countries," the story says.
The chain has a lot of stores in California and Florida, two of the states hit hardest by the housing downtown. There's no saying which Office Depot stores will close, if any, but be on the look out for slowing inventory and super sales.

They will be closing 7 stores in IL alone. In Chicago based stores, they will be closing 4. The two I know of are, Fullerton and Grand, and six corners. Look for the bargins!
I recently bought a new 3-in-1 (without fax) from Office Depot. The store in Van Nuys at Victory and Sepulveda didn't have the one on sale at a phenomenal price, so I had to go to the store in Reseda/North Hills at Corbin and Parthenia. Neither store had much customer activity. I do hope the Van Nuys store stays in business, as it's near my home. It should get some walk-in business, as it's next to Sam Woo's BBQ and a busy Asian market.
