My Nitty Gritty Grocery List
Last night I talked to an interesting group of folks who belong to a B'nai Brith service organization in Tarzana. It was a lot of fun, though I was pretty nervous.
During the brief talk (at least I hope it felt brief!) I mentioned My Nitty Gritty Grocery List as a tool to save money on groceries. Download the file, print it out and bring it to the grocery store. If you can't remember what a "good price" is for something, whip out My Nitty Gritty Grocery List and check.
It has "good prices" for 35 staple items and was updated late August. Prices fluctuate constantly, so please remember that My Nitty Gritty Grocery List is a guide.

Julia-
I wasn't a "follower" when you made the list originally. I can make out some of the store abbreviations -- TJ is obvious -- but could you possibly go over all the stores again? There is no "key" with the print out.
Thanks.
Here is what the abbreviations stand for. F4L is Food 4 Less, 99C is the 99 Cent Store, FE is Fresh & Easy, TJ is Trader Joe's. ~Julia
You were DEFINITELY not boring on Thursday nite and the info was very timely. Thanks!!
There is this Mexican supermarket named: EL SUPER that has Veggies & Fruit on sale every Wed. Meat is on sale every Thursday.
I usually go to Vallarta, but since I found this supermarket I rather drive the extra blocks & save money. Last week I got 2 lbs of tomatoes for like 89cents, compared to other stores where you see them for like 1.00 a pound.
There is one located on Pathenia & Van Nuys, another next to the Arleta DMV & another in North Hollywood on Victory & Lankershim ( I think) before you get on the 170 fwy
Just wanted to share this with you.
