Get $5 off with Google checkout

Save a few bucks while back to school shopping using Google Checkout, which is a PayPal competitor. Depending on the retailer, you can get $5 off a $30 purchase or $10 off a $60 purchase when you pay with Google Checkout. (The larger discount applies only to Beauty.com, Drugstore.com and the 20th Century Fox store.)

Participating stores include Jockey.com, eBags.com, and ShoeBuy.com, among others.

The promotion lasts until September 9, 2008. You have to have an account with Google Checkout to get this deal. They hold your credit card or bank account information and you make the purchase through them instead of sharing your information with each retailer. Some folks feel this is safer.
